Experience Koh Samui by Private Yacht
Picture the Gulf of Thailand from the deck of a yacht that belongs to your group for the day — the coastline of Koh Samui sliding past, no fixed route, and nobody on board you did not invite. This is not a group tour with a printed schedule. It is your own boat, your own timing, and the freedom to change the plan halfway through the afternoon if you feel like it.
Oceans Elite Charters is a luxury yacht and private boat charter company based in Koh Samui. Rather than owning the yachts ourselves, we carefully represent and arrange charters on a selection of professionally operated vessels. Before recommending a yacht, we assess the boat, crew, safety equipment, and required licences to help ensure a safe and reliable experience. This allows us to match each guest with the yacht that best fits their group, preferences, and itinerary—not simply the vessel available at the pier.

Why Charter a Private Yacht?
A private charter is a different product from a group tour, not a more expensive version of one.
- Complete privacy — the yacht is yours for the duration. No sharing, no strangers on the sun deck.
- Your own itinerary — visit the places you want to see, in the order that suits your day.
- Flexible timing — depart and return when it works for you rather than when a schedule dictates.
- Professional captain and crew — local knowledge and attentive service throughout.
- Real onboard comfort — air-conditioned interiors, spacious decks, marine bathrooms and proper seating.
- Access to quieter anchorages — small bays and beaches the large tour boats cannot reach or will not stop at.
- Suits couples, families and groups alike — from eight guests to twelve on the motor yachts.
- Built for occasions — birthdays, anniversaries, honeymoons and corporate days, arranged in advance by our concierge team.

Choosing the Right Yacht for Your Group
Not sure which one fits? This is roughly how we point people.
For Couples
The Princess V39 takes eight and feels intimate without feeling small — the natural pick for a sunset charter or a honeymoon day. For something with more deck to stretch out on, Miss GiGi is worth a look.
For Families
Princess 64 and Princess 42 are the family yachts: air-conditioned interiors to retreat into, easy swimming access from the stern, and crews used to having children on board.
For Groups of Eight to Ten
Princess 42, Cranchi 47 or the Princess V39 give you the right balance of luxury and space without paying for capacity you will not use.
For Groups of Ten to Twelve
Princess 64, Gelati 415, Prestige 500 and Fairline 43 all carry twelve comfortably, with enough deck and shade that a full boat still feels relaxed.
For Birthdays and Large Parties
Once you are past twelve guests, a motor yacht is the wrong tool. Move to the party vessels: the 15 Metre Power Cat takes 45, Maxi Catamaran 60, The Beat Boat 70, and Heaven Samui — a 24-metre floating bar and event platform — up to 100.
For Corporate Days
Sunseeker 60 or Princess 64 when the impression matters. Both are the kind of yacht that does the talking for you before anyone has said a word.
For Sunset Cruises
The Princess V39 and Oryx 40 are both well suited to a shorter evening charter. See the Oceans Sunset itinerary for how the evening usually runs.
For Full-Day Island Hopping
Princess 64 or Sunseeker 60 for reaching Ang Thong National Marine Park, Koh Tao or Koh Phangan and still having most of the day there.
For Overnight Charters
The Princess 64 has four air-conditioned cabins and sleeps eight overnight, which makes it the pick of the motor yachts for a night at anchor. The Lagoon 42 and Belize 43 catamarans are the alternatives. Full detail on the Oceans Overnight charter.
What's Included in a Private Yacht Charter
Inclusions vary by vessel, so treat this as what a typical full-day charter covers rather than a fixed list.
- Captain and professional crew for the duration of the charter
- Fuel for the agreed itinerary
- Food and refreshments — Thai buffets, Western BBQs, seafood lunches or a beach picnic, depending on the package
- Snorkelling equipment: masks, fins and life vests
- Onboard facilities — marine bathrooms, air-conditioned interiors, sun decks and sound systems
- Hotel or pier transfers in an air-conditioned vehicle
- Drinking water, soft drinks and fresh tropical fruit
- Water activities such as kayaking, paddleboarding and fishing gear, available on request and on selected vessels
Because the yachts come from different owners, the detail differs from boat to boat. Ask our team and we will confirm exactly what is covered on your vessel and your date before you commit to anything.
Popular Yacht Charter Experiences from Koh Samui
Koh Tao and Koh Nang Yuan
Snorkelling over coral in some of the clearest water in the Gulf, plus the sandbar view at Koh Nang Yuan that everyone photographs. A long full day, and the reason to take a faster yacht. Our set itinerary is Oceans Adventure; more on Koh Tao.
Ang Thong National Marine Park
Forty-two limestone islands, hidden lagoons and viewpoints that earn the climb. Kayaking, snorkelling and the Emerald Lake are the highlights. See Oceans Discovery and the marine park guide.
Koh Tan and Koh Madsum
The southern cluster, close to Samui and easy on the schedule. Quiet beaches, good snorkelling at Koh Tan, and the pigs at Koh Madsum that children never stop talking about. Our full-day version is Oceans Explorer.
Koh Phangan
The quieter side of Samui's larger neighbour — hidden coves, beach picnics and swimming in bays that the ferry crowd never sees. See Koh Phangan and the Oceans Voyager itinerary.
Sunset Charter
A few hours into golden hour with drinks on deck. The shortest charter on offer and, for a lot of guests, the one they remember. See Oceans Sunset.
Charters for Every Occasion
Romantic Charters
Champagne, a quiet anchorage and a sunset. Flowers, private dining and personalised menus can all be arranged in advance — tell us what the occasion is when you enquire.
Honeymoons
Overnight charters with a secluded anchorage, breakfast on the water and island stops the next morning. The Princess 64 and Belize 43 are the popular choices.
Birthdays
From a family lunch on a Princess V39 to a hundred guests on Heaven Samui. Decorations, catering and music are arranged for you.
Family Holidays
Safe, comfortable and genuinely enjoyable for every age group. Crews are experienced with children, and life vests are carried in children's sizes.
Weddings
Vows on deck, a sunset reception, or the whole celebration at sea. Our concierge team handles the arrangements end to end.
Corporate Days
Client entertaining or a reward day for the team, with water activities and proper catering rather than a boxed lunch.
Private Parties
For larger groups the party vessels carry 45 to 100 guests with sound systems, open decks and wet bars.

7. Return to Koh Samui
Back at the pier in the late afternoon or evening, with your transfer waiting.

Best Time for a Yacht Charter in Koh Samui
Koh Samui sits on the Gulf coast, which runs on a different weather pattern from Phuket and the Andaman side. In broad terms:
- The first half of the year is generally the calmest and clearest, and the busiest for charters.
- The middle months usually bring occasional showers but sea conditions that stay workable most days.
- Late in the year is the wettest and windiest stretch, and the period most likely to affect a route.
Christmas, New Year and Songkran are the peak dates — book well ahead if you are travelling then. For a full-day charter we usually recommend a 9:00 to 10:00 AM departure to make the most of the daylight.
Rather than promise conditions by month, we check the forecast for your specific dates before confirming a route, and your captain makes the final call on the day with guest safety first. Send us your travel window and we will tell you honestly what to expect.
What a Private Yacht Charter Costs
Charter prices depend on the yacht, the duration, the group size, the distance and what you want laid on. Day rates across the motor yachts currently start from ฿30,000 for the Oryx 40 and run to ฿250,000 for the Sunseeker 60, with most of the range sitting between ฿45,000 and ฿80,000.
| What affects the price | How |
|---|---|
| Yacht | Larger motor yachts command higher rates than catamarans or speedboats of similar capacity |
| Duration | Half day, full day, sunset and overnight are priced differently |
| Guest numbers | Some yachts include a base number of guests, with additional guests charged separately |
| Distance | Koh Tao and Ang Thong need more fuel and more hours than the southern islands |
| Food and drink | Seafood BBQs, beach picnics and private chef arrangements sit above standard catering |
| Water activities | Snorkelling gear is generally included; specialist equipment may not be |
| Transfers | Hotel pick-up and drop-off are typically part of the charter |
| Special requests | Decorations, photographers and entertainment are arranged on request |
A charter is priced per boat, not per person, so the cost per head drops sharply with group size. A ฿60,000 charter split between twelve guests is ฿5,000 each for a full day with crew, transfers and equipment.

Frequently Asked Questions
Full-day rates for the motor yachts start from ฿30,000 for the Oryx 40 and rise to ฿250,000 for the Sunseeker 60, with most vessels between ฿45,000 and ฿80,000. Catamarans start lower, from ฿18,000. The final price depends on the yacht, duration, group size and route.
The motor yachts carry between 8 and 12 guests. If your group is larger, catamarans take up to 35 and the party vessels carry 45 to 100.
Typically the captain and crew, fuel for the agreed route, food and refreshments, snorkelling equipment, onboard facilities and hotel transfers. Inclusions vary by vessel, so we confirm the specifics in writing before you book.
Yes. The route is built around your group and can still be adjusted on the water, as long as conditions and your captain allow.
Koh Tao, Koh Nang Yuan, Ang Thong National Marine Park, Koh Phangan, Koh Tan and Koh Madsum are the usual destinations, along with quieter bays around Koh Samui itself.
The Princess 64 or the Gelati 415 are the usual recommendations for a group of ten — both carry twelve, so ten guests travel comfortably rather than at capacity. The Princess 42 and Cranchi 47 are the tighter, more affordable options at exactly ten.
Yes. Smaller celebrations work well on the motor yachts, and for larger parties the party vessels carry up to 100 guests. Decorations, catering and entertainment are arranged in advance.
Yes. Life vests are carried in children's sizes and the crews are used to family charters. Tell us the ages when you enquire so the right equipment is ready.
Half day, full day, sunset and overnight charters are all available, and extended multi-day charters can be arranged on request.
The Gulf of Thailand is generally calmest and clearest in the first half of the year, with the wettest and windiest conditions later in the year. Charters run year-round, subject to conditions on the day.
Yes, always. Every charter is fully crewed — these are not bareboat rentals. We charter the vessel and its crew together, and inspect both.
No. Oceans Elite is an independent charter agent on Koh Samui. We represent a range of motor yachts, catamarans, speedboats and party vessels, and inspect the boats, crews, safety equipment and licences before chartering them. It means we can recommend the yacht that suits your group rather than the one we happen to own.
For the peak season, two to three months ahead is sensible, particularly for the larger yachts. Outside peak dates, two to four weeks is usually enough.
